NDA Engineering is a specialist stainless steel facility that provides mechanical design and fabrication of equipment for the dairy, brewing, pharmaceutical and chemical industries.

We work closely with Crown Sheetmetal, another NDA Group company. This allows us to fabricate in the South Island as well as the North, depending on what is most convenient for you.

Bespoke design services

To meet your own particular specifications, we offer full in-house mechanical design and drafting services. Using design software, including COMPRESS, and our own specially developed spreadsheets we can design pressure vessels and heat exchangers in compliance with current design codes including ‘U’ Stamp ISO 9001, AS1210, ASME VIII, PD5500 and TEMA, and storage tanks to API650, API620 and AS1692.

To ensure we get your design right, we use a wide range of professional design software. We create conceptual 3D models in SolidWorks, which are turned into fully detailed fabrication drawings for manufacture. Depending on your engineering project, we may also use AutoCAD or Autodesk Inventor. We can also offer Finite Element Analysis (FEA), using FEMAP with NX NASTRAM software.

This allows us to design and iterate to a high standard before moving to production, making the whole process run much more smoothly for you.

Space to take on the big jobs

In our workshops, we have access to some 8,500 square metres of workshop area and 50 workshop staff. With fabrication capacity in excess of 95,000 man hours a year, we have the capability to take on very large projects.

The workshops are well equipped for any project, whether it involves stainless steel or exotic alloys. All workshops have overhead gantry cranes, some of which have a lifting capacity of up to 60 tonnes, and dedicated high bay facilities with a 20-metre height under the hook.

From concept to design to fabrication, the team at NDA Engineering are here to streamline the process and ensure your products are consistently top quality, and exceed all relevant standards.
